The Allied Peoples Movement has won all 20 chairmanship seats contested in the Bauchi State local government elections, according to results announced by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission. The APM also secured 319 of the 323 councillorship seats contested across the state.
BASIEC Chairperson, Jummai Abubakar, declared the results after the completion of voting, counting, collation and verification. Among the declared winners were Bappah Aliyu in Alkaleri with 107,482 votes, Umar Mohammed in Bauchi with 125,170 votes and Zakka Luka in Bogoro with 25,282 votes.
The remaining four councillorship seats were shared among four opposition parties, with the Social Democratic Party winning Dandango Ward in Bauchi LGA and the National Rescue Movement taking Darazo South Ward.
