The Independent National Electoral Commission has begun uploading results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal. As of 4:03pm on Saturday, 402 polling-unit results had been uploaded out of the 3,763 expected across the state’s 30 local government areas, representing 10.68 per cent of the total.
The uploading followed the conclusion of voting and the commencement of sorting and counting at polling units. The IReV platform allows voters, political parties, observers and other stakeholders to access polling-unit results electronically as they are transmitted by election officials. The pace of uploads subsequently increased, with more than half of the expected results uploaded by early evening.
The Osun election is a major contest involving incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and ADC candidate Najeem Salaam. Attention now shifts to the collation of results as INEC continues the electronic upload process across the state.
