Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on President Bola Tinubu to direct security agencies deployed for the 2026 governorship election to protect the integrity of the results as collation begins. Adeleke expressed concern over alleged attempts by politicians to disrupt or hijack collation centres across the state.
The governor specifically urged the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigerian Army and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to remain vigilant and ensure that the votes cast by Osun residents are protected. He also called on INEC to receive all necessary support to complete the collation process transparently and credibly.
Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, said the people of Osun had spoken through their ballots and their choice must be respected. He commended voters for turning out and urged residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding while results move from polling units to ward and local government collation centres.
