The Industrial Training Fund has commissioned a new 47,600-litre-capacity fuel station in Jos, Plateau State, as part of efforts to improve fuel access for its workforce and strengthen the agency’s operational efficiency. ITF Director-General, Dr Afiz Ogun, said staff will be able to purchase fuel using their identification cards, with the cost deducted gradually from their salaries.
The facility was built on a 2,150-square-metre site that had previously been abandoned and used as a fuel dump for ITF vehicles. The contract was awarded on May 16, 2025, and construction was completed in March 2026. The station is designed primarily to dispense Premium Motor Spirit, while provision has also been made for Compressed Natural Gas, although the CNG installation is yet to be completed.
Ogun said the fuel station is one of several projects under his administration focused on staff welfare, skills development and automation. He also announced plans for additional specialised training centres across Nigeria, including facilities for ceramics, leather, metals and offshore fabrication.
