Vice President Kashim Shettima, World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and renowned Kenyan scholar Prof. Patrick Lumumba have arrived in Asaba ahead of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, which begins on Monday. The summit is expected to bring together government officials, investors, business leaders and development partners to promote investment opportunities and strengthen Delta State’s economic growth strategy.
Shettima, who was received at the Asaba International Airport by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and senior state officials, is expected to speak on how the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda has created new opportunities for investment and business expansion. Okonjo-Iweala is scheduled to deliver a keynote address, while Lumumba will also address participants on leadership and economic development.
The summit is expected to showcase investment opportunities across sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, power, solid minerals, the blue economy and infrastructure. Delta State officials say the event is aimed at attracting both local and foreign investors, fostering strategic partnerships and accelerating sustainable economic development in the state.
