Tunisia struggled to respond after the break, and Japan extended their advantage in the 69th minute when Junya Ito converted a precise through-ball from Kamada. Ueda completed the rout six minutes from full time with a looping header to seal a convincing victory.
The result extended Japan’s unbeaten run to nine matches and moved them into second place in Group F. For Tunisia, the defeat ended their World Cup hopes after just two games, making them the first African team eliminated from the expanded 48-team tournament.
Elsewhere, Curaçao secured their first-ever World Cup point after holding Ecuador to a draw, while Germany narrowly defeated Côte d’Ivoire 2-1 after a late comeback. The Netherlands also impressed with a 5-1 victory over Sweden, strengthening their position in Group F.
