Former Adamawa governorship candidate and ex-senator, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, has officially left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), marking another major shift in her political alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections. 
Binani announced her defection during a formal reception where she received her new party membership card in Abuja. She explained that her decision followed a careful review of the NDC’s constitution, which she described as structured, principle-driven, and focused on collective governance, adding that the move was also influenced by her supporters’ wishes. 
She further stated that politics is dynamic and decisions must reflect changing realities, stressing that she does not regret her past political affiliations, including her time in the APC and ADC. According to her, the priority remains delivering better representation for her supporters and aligning with a platform that reflects their political aspirations. 
The latest defection adds to ongoing political realignments across opposition parties as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify, with several politicians switching platforms amid internal crises and strategic positioning.
