\n\nAnambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has said that the ongoing agitation for Biafra has significantly undermined economic growth and development in Nigeria’s South-East region. Speaking during a public engagement, Soludo noted that insecurity linked to separatist activities has discouraged investments, disrupted businesses, and created an unstable environment for residents.
The governor pointed to issues such as frequent sit-at-home orders, attacks on public infrastructure, and fear among citizens, which have collectively slowed down commercial activities in the region. He stressed that many local and foreign investors are now hesitant to commit resources due to safety concerns, leading to lost opportunities for job creation and economic expansion.
Soludo, however, called for a collective effort to restore peace and rebuild confidence in the region, urging residents to reject violence and support initiatives aimed at stabilising the South-East. He emphasized that sustainable development can only be achieved in a secure environment, adding that governments at all levels must work together to address the root causes of unrest.
