Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo stole attention at the first birthday celebration of her grandson, Prince Ayomide Rakeem Mkambala, held in Lagos on Saturday. The cowboy-themed celebration was attended by several celebrities and their families, including Toke Makinwa, Yhemo Lee, Nkechi Blessing, Kamo State and designer Veekee James. Rakeem is the son of Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla, and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
Ojo, who had been involved in preparations for the celebration, acknowledged friends and associates including Shade Okoya, Lola Alao and Bose Alao for contributing souvenirs for the children. The event featured games, music and dancing, with Rakeem’s parents also joining in the festivities. The actress herself became a major attraction after her outfit drew attention online, while she later took to the dance floor with her son, Festus.
The celebration came days after Ojo marked Rakeem’s actual first birthday on August 24 with heartfelt tributes, describing him as her first grandson, joy and “answered prayer.” The family had previously kept the child’s face away from the public eye during his first year before unveiling him on his birthday.
