Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates Aikou and Flora have been released from their special “Gambit” status and are now eligible to compete for the show’s ₦160m grand prize. The development followed Big Brother’s “Operation Release the Gambit” twist, which gave viewers the power to decide whether one or both housemates should be reinstated as regular contestants.
The pair had earlier been selected as the season’s first Gambits, a role that guaranteed them places in the house until the finale but excluded them from the grand-prize race. During Sunday’s live show, viewers were given three options: release Aikou, release Flora or release both. The decision ultimately resulted in both housemates losing their Gambit status, returning them to the normal competition.
With the change, Aikou and Flora can now face nominations and evictions like other housemates while also competing for the ₦160m prize. The twist adds another layer of uncertainty to the competition, as the two contestants who had previously secured guaranteed spots in the finale must now fight to remain in the house.
