The Lagos State Government has announced plans to begin enforcing the use of identification badges by commercial bus drivers and conductors as part of efforts to improve safety and accountability across the state’s public transportation system.
The enforcement is expected to require commercial transport workers to wear identification badges while carrying out their duties.
The initiative is aimed at making it easier for passengers and transport authorities to identify drivers and conductors, particularly when reporting misconduct, complaints or incidents involving commercial vehicles.
The government said the measure would also support efforts to improve orderliness and strengthen monitoring within the transport sector.
Lagos residents who rely on commercial buses for daily transportation are expected to benefit from improved identification and accountability.
The enforcement announcement comes as the state continues to introduce measures to regulate commercial transportation and improve the experience of commuters.
