Nigeria is presenting a fresh pipeline of 23 investment opportunities valued at about $42.7 billion as the Federal Government seeks to attract more private and institutional capital into major sectors of the economy.
The projects are contained in the September 2026 Project Nigeria Investor Briefing Book and cover transport and infrastructure, energy and gas, agriculture, industry and manufacturing, as well as housing and urban services. The Federal Ministry of Finance said the portfolio has nine sponsors and includes transaction structures, financing requirements and implementation milestones for prospective investors.
Among the projects is the Lagos Greenline Railway, which has an estimated capital requirement of $1.29 billion. The wider pipeline is designed to give investors clearer information on projects that are considered suitable for financing and development.
The initiative comes as Nigeria continues efforts to mobilise private capital for infrastructure and productive sectors, particularly areas where government funding alone may not be sufficient to meet investment requirements.
The inclusion of energy, gas, agriculture and manufacturing projects also reflects the government’s focus on expanding investment beyond traditional sources of economic activity and creating opportunities for domestic and international investors.
The Federal Government is expected to use the investment portfolio to engage prospective financiers and project partners as it works to move projects from planning and financing stages towards implementation.
With the combined capital requirement running into billions of dollars, the pipeline could become an important channel through which Nigeria presents specific investment opportunities to the international market.
