The Lagos State Police Command has restored calm to the Ikola area of Alimosho Local Government Area following a violent clash that left three people dead and two others injured on Thursday. Police deployed personnel from the Rapid Response Squad, Taskforce, Tactical Squad, Police Mobile Force and other specialised units to prevent further violence and maintain law and order.

The confrontation reportedly began after suspected area boys stopped a tricycle operator and demanded ₦200. The rider allegedly refused, prompting the group to seize his tricycle. He later returned with some people, triggering a violent confrontation between the two sides, during which some buildings were reportedly set ablaze.

The police said security operatives have remained in the area to prevent a fresh outbreak of violence and protect residents and property. Authorities are also expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and identify those responsible for the unrest.
