Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved the reappointment of the state’s immediate-past Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Mrs Titilayo Olarike Olayinka, barely 24 hours after her retirement from the civil service. Her new appointment took effect immediately after she attained the mandatory retirement age of 60 on August 24, 2026.

Olayinka previously served as Ekiti’s Accountant-General from November 2019 until her retirement. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and has extensive experience in accounting, auditing, financial management and public-sector administration. The state government credited her with contributions to Ekiti’s improvements in fiscal transparency and financial management.

Under her renewed appointment, Olayinka is expected to strengthen the professional capacity of accountants in the state civil service through a comprehensive training programme. Oyebanji commended her previous contributions and urged her to bring her experience to bear on the management of the state’s finances.
