President Bola Tinubu has renewed the appointments of the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, and the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ali Mohammed Ali, for another three-year term. Their renewed tenure will take effect on October 20, 2026, following their initial appointments to the positions on the same date in 2023.
The renewal was announced on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Dembos, a former National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers Union, previously served in various capacities within the NTA, including as General Manager of NTA Lokoja and NTA Kano, while Ali has continued to lead NAN since his appointment in 2023.
Tinubu urged both media executives to justify his confidence in them by remaining committed to the mandates of their respective organisations and supporting the promotion of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
