Seven people have been killed and seven others injured in a road crash involving a Toyota Sienna and a Mazda vehicle along the Kutigi–Bida Road in Niger State. The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Shebe Village when the Mazda, travelling from Minna towards Mokwa, reportedly entered a blind corner and collided with the Sienna, which was heading from Lagos to Minna.
According to the report, the Mazda had departed the Mobil Motor Park with eight passengers, while the Sienna was also fully occupied. Rescue officials said 18 people were involved in the crash, with seven confirmed dead, seven injured and four escaping without injuries.
The crash adds to concerns over road safety on major highways, particularly where sharp bends and limited visibility can increase the risk of head-on collisions. Emergency responders attended the scene and evacuated the injured victims for medical attention.
