The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has urged the Itsekiri people at home and abroad to transform the challenges facing their kingdom into opportunities for growth and advancement. The monarch said the Itsekiri nation must not allow obstacles to overwhelm it, but instead view them as stepping stones towards greater progress.

Speaking during activities marking his fifth coronation anniversary, the Olu encouraged his people to remain united, resilient and focused on the future. He attributed the progress recorded during his five-year reign to divine grace and expressed confidence that the kingdom could overcome its difficulties by maintaining faith and pursuing purposeful development.

The anniversary has also highlighted efforts to strengthen Itsekiri identity, cultural heritage and unity. Other leaders, including Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, have called on the various ethnic groups in Warri to preserve peace and harmonious coexistence, stressing that stability is essential for sustainable development and investment in the area.
