President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a closed-door meeting, marking their first known meeting since Adeleke’s re-election in the August 15 governorship election. Adeleke arrived at about 5:25pm alongside National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and was later joined by senior Osun officials.
The visit came days after Tinubu personally congratulated Adeleke on his victory and urged him to unite Osun residents regardless of their political affiliations. Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, defeated APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji with 511,067 votes to 444,815.
Following the meeting, Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return to Tinubu. The specific issues discussed during the closed-door engagement were not immediately disclosed, although the meeting comes amid renewed political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
