The Tax Ombud and the Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority have agreed to strengthen collaboration to resolve tax and regulatory disputes affecting investors and improve Nigeria’s investment climate. The partnership is aimed at providing a more efficient mechanism for addressing complaints and reducing barriers that could discourage domestic and foreign investment.
Officials said the collaboration would help protect taxpayers’ rights while ensuring that businesses operating within the oil and gas free zones receive clearer guidance on their tax and regulatory obligations. Faster resolution of disputes is also expected to improve investor confidence and create a more predictable business environment.
The two agencies expressed their commitment to sustained engagement with investors and relevant government bodies to address recurring challenges. They said a transparent and responsive dispute-resolution system would support economic growth, encourage fresh investments and strengthen Nigeria’s position as an attractive destination for international businesses.
