President Bola Tinubu has met with the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Rabe Darma, to discuss the management and disposal of houses seized by the anti-graft agency nationwide. The meeting took place at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, with the Presidency stressing transparency and accountability in handling the properties.
The discussions come amid the Federal Government’s plans for the management and disposal of forfeited properties, including a 753-unit housing estate in Abuja recovered by the EFCC from former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele. The estate was transferred to the Housing Ministry in 2025 for possible public sale or government use.
The latest meeting is expected to help clarify the process for managing and disposing of seized houses while ensuring that proceeds and assets recovered through anti-corruption investigations are handled in accordance with government regulations.
