Baze University Graduates 928 Jigawa Youths, Equips Them With Skills for Employment and Entrepreneurship
\n\nBaze University has graduated 928 young people from Jigawa State under its Ideas, Development and Entrepreneurship Advancement (IDEAS) programme, in a move aimed at improving youth employability and encouraging entrepreneurship.

The graduation ceremony was held as part of efforts by the university and the Jigawa State Government to equip young people with practical skills that can translate into employment, business opportunities and sustainable livelihoods. The programme was designed to go beyond conventional classroom education by exposing participants to skills relevant to today’s economy.

The initiative reflects growing efforts across Nigeria to address youth unemployment by providing young people with vocational, digital and entrepreneurial capabilities. For many participants, such programmes can provide an alternative pathway into self-employment while also improving their competitiveness in the labour market.

Officials involved in the programme stressed the importance of investing in young people and ensuring that training is connected to real economic opportunities.

With 928 youths completing the programme, the initiative represents a significant investment in skills development in Jigawa and could contribute to the growth of small businesses and local enterprises if beneficiaries are able to access the necessary financing and market opportunities.

The development also highlights the increasing role of partnerships between educational institutions and state governments in tackling youth unemployment through practical training.

Baze University and the Jigawa State Government are expected to continue supporting initiatives that prepare young Nigerians with skills needed to participate more effectively in the economy.
