The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected drug dealers and recovered 5,676 pieces of assorted illicit drugs during intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing drug trafficking and substance abuse across the state. Police spokesperson SP Shi’isu Adam said the suspects were apprehended during coordinated raids based on credible intelligence targeting individuals involved in the sale and distribution of prohibited substances.
According to the police, the recovered exhibits include 3,833 Exol tablets, 204 Tramadol tablets, 919 Diazepam tablets, 114 Pregabalin capsules, 101 tubes of rubber solution, 30 Lara capsules, bottles of codeine syrup, two litres of a substance known as “Suck and Die,” as well as one block and 475 wraps of suspected cannabis (Indian hemp). Officers also recovered ₦93,626, believed to be proceeds from illicit drug sales.
The command said the operation forms part of its sustained crackdown on criminal networks involved in drug trafficking and abuse in Jigawa State. The suspects remain in police custody and will be charged to court after investigations are concluded, while authorities urged residents to continue providing credible information to support the fight against drug-related crimes.
