The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that it has launched an administrative investigation into Assistant Inspector-General of Police Moshood Jimoh, following corruption allegations made by social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. Police authorities said the probe is intended to establish the facts surrounding the claims and determine whether any disciplinary or legal action is necessary.
According to the Force, AIG Jimoh has been invited for questioning as part of the internal investigation. The police stressed that the inquiry does not amount to a finding of guilt but is a standard procedure aimed at ensuring accountability, transparency and due process whenever serious allegations are made against senior officers.
The development follows a series of corruption allegations published by VeryDarkMan on social media, which generated widespread public attention. The Nigeria Police Force urged members of the public to allow the investigation to run its course, assuring Nigerians that the outcome would be handled in accordance with the law and established disciplinary procedures.
