Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has received a group of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State. The event, held on Sunday, is part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its support base in Kano ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the new members, Kwankwaso assured them of equal opportunities within the NDC and urged them to work towards building a stronger political movement in the state. He said the party remains focused on expanding its grassroots presence and positioning itself as a credible alternative in the coming elections.
The latest defections come amid ongoing political realignments in Kano, where parties have intensified efforts to attract influential figures and supporters ahead of the 2027 polls. The NDC described the move as another boost to its growing membership in the state.
