The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the public display of the personal particulars and academic credentials submitted by President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as candidates for the 2027 presidential election. The publication, made through Form EC9 at INEC offices, is part of the statutory nomination process and allows members of the public to examine documents submitted by candidates.
The displayed documents include educational qualifications, personal information, work history and other supporting records required under Nigeria’s electoral laws. The public display period also provides an opportunity for eligible individuals or groups to raise objections or challenge any information submitted by candidates through the legal procedures outlined in the Electoral Act.
INEC said the exercise forms part of preparations for the 2027 general elections and is intended to promote transparency in the candidate nomination process. Similar documents submitted by other presidential candidates have also been published for public scrutiny in accordance with electoral regulations.
