The Commissioner of Police in Gombe State, Umar Chuso, has decorated the Area Commander of Gombe Metropolis, Suur Chafa, with his new rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). The ceremony, held at the Gombe State Police Command Headquarters, was attended by family members, government officials, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and leaders of the Tiv community in the state.
During the event, the Gombe State chapter of the PCRC presented Chafa with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his professionalism and dedicated service. CP Chuso congratulated the newly promoted officer, describing the promotion as a reward for his discipline, commitment and outstanding contributions to policing. He urged Chafa to remain steadfast in serving the Nigeria Police Force and the public with integrity and distinction.
In his response, DCP Chafa expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, the Command Management Team, Divisional Police Officers under his area command and other stakeholders for their support throughout his career. He pledged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and continue working to improve security and strengthen public confidence in policing across Gombe State.
