Senate President Godswill Akpabio publicly apologised to Senator Adams Oshiomhole after jokingly referring to a past controversy involving the former Edo State governor during plenary. The remark prompted Oshiomhole to remind Akpabio of an earlier agreement between them to avoid revisiting the issue, saying the Senate President had breached their truce.
Responding immediately, Akpabio apologised on the floor of the Senate, describing Oshiomhole as a friend, brother and colleague. He stressed that there should be “no more hostilities” between them and reaffirmed his commitment to honouring their understanding. Oshiomhole accepted the apology in a light-hearted exchange, recalling the earlier “massaging woman’s legs” jibe that had sparked public attention.
