President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and leadership of 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose named as the new Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Among the key appointments, Major General Junaid Bindawa (retd.) was named Chairman of the National Salary and Wages Commission, while other appointees were assigned to leadership positions across agencies responsible for electricity, population management, agriculture, and other strategic sectors. The Presidency said the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across federal institutions.
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect, with the new board chairpersons and chief executives expected to drive reforms and support the administration’s development agenda. The full list of appointees spans key federal agencies and commissions tasked with advancing economic growth, infrastructure development, and public sector efficiency.
