The Nigerian Army has warned Nigerians to disregard a fake recruitment advertisement circulating online, claiming applications are open for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027. In a statement, the Army described the notice as false and fraudulent, stressing that it did not originate from the military or any of its authorised platforms.

The Army clarified that it has not commenced any recruitment or commissioning exercise for either the Short Service Commission (SSC) or the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC). It assured the public that any genuine recruitment exercise would be officially announced through its website, verified social media accounts, national newspapers, and other recognised communication channels.

The military also cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to fraudsters who exploit fake recruitment notices to extort money from unsuspecting applicants. It reiterated that recruitment into the Nigerian Army is completely free and urged anyone with information about such fraudulent activities to report them to the nearest security agency.
