The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspects and recovered 250 expended cartridges, machetes, battle axes, knives, suspected illicit drugs, and other dangerous items during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across the state. The operation, carried out under Operation KO S’AYE III, targeted black spots including Boolar and Super Ile-Epo following credible intelligence.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said the operation was conducted in the early hours of Sunday by a joint team of operatives from different formations of the command. Recovered exhibits included 22 machetes, five battle axes, two knives, assorted charms, a lighter, a pair of scissors, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp. All suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue to determine their involvement in criminal activities.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Fatai commended the officers involved and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining the anti-crime operation across the state. He also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to help identify criminal hideouts, apprehend offenders, and improve public safety.
