The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mrs. Mary Amaechi, mother of the party’s vice-presidential candidate and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi. In a condolence message issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described the late matriarch as a woman whose love, guidance and sacrifices helped shape generations, while extending its sympathies to the entire Amaechi family.
The ADC said a mother’s influence extends far beyond her home through the values she instils, the sacrifices she makes and the lives she positively impacts. The party noted that although the pain of losing a loved one is immeasurable, the family should find comfort in Mrs. Amaechi’s well-lived life, cherished memories and the prayers of millions of Nigerians mourning with them. The statement also highlighted that political associates, supporters and well-wishers have continued to pay tribute to the late matriarch following news of her passing.
On behalf of its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, the National Working Committee and members across the country, the ADC prayed for the peaceful repose of Mrs. Mary Amaechi’s soul and asked God to grant her family strength, comfort and peace during this difficult period.
