President Bola Tinubu has said Nigeria’s economy is making steady foundational progress despite the hardship associated with his administration’s economic reforms. Speaking during a meeting with the leadership of Deloitte Africa at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu acknowledged that the reforms had been difficult for many Nigerians but insisted they were necessary to stabilise the economy, strengthen public finances and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth.
The President said his administration’s fiscal and financial reforms are beginning to yield positive results, pointing to improvements in economic stability and investor confidence. He also received commendation from Deloitte Africa, whose leadership praised the government’s reform agenda and expressed confidence in Nigeria’s long-term economic outlook. Tinubu reiterated that the reforms were designed to address structural challenges that had weakened the economy over the years and urged Nigerians to remain patient as the benefits become more evident.
According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the administration remains committed to maintaining prudent fiscal policies, encouraging private-sector investment and creating an environment that supports inclusive economic growth. Tinubu assured stakeholders that his government would continue implementing reforms aimed at improving living standards and ensuring long-term economic prosperity for the country.
