Controversial disc jockey and TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has reportedly been arrested following a viral video in which he made remarks about Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu. The development was disclosed by his lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, who said his client was arrested in Ikeja and is currently being held at the Ikeja Police Headquarters. He also claimed he believed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were involved in the arrest.
According to the lawyer, the arrest is linked to a video shared by DJ Chicken in which he made a threatening statement about the President’s son. Stephen appealed to Nigerians, the entertainer’s fans and individuals with access to the Presidency to intervene, describing DJ Chicken as someone he has personally mentored and supported over the years. He pleaded for forgiveness on behalf of his client, saying the entertainer needed help and expressing uncertainty about how to secure his release.
As of the time of reporting, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services had officially confirmed the arrest or disclosed the reason for any detention. The incident has generated widespread reactions online, coming days after the controversial video drew criticism and calls for authorities to investigate the social media personality.
