Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced a free petrol delivery programme for bulk buyers in Abuja and six other locations while maintaining its ex-depot price of ₦1,075 per litre. The initiative covers the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna, and Delta states, with the company saying it is aimed at reducing logistics costs and improving fuel distribution across the country.
Under the scheme, customers purchasing a minimum of 250,000 litres of petrol will receive free delivery directly from the refinery. Eligible buyers will also have access to a 10-day credit facility, allowing them to pay after receiving supplies. The refinery said the deliveries will be handled using a fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered trucks, a move expected to lower transportation costs and improve efficiency.
Industry stakeholders say the initiative could ease fuel distribution challenges, reduce the cost of moving petrol from depots to filling stations and potentially help stabilise pump prices for consumers. Dangote Refinery added that the programme will be expanded to more states in phases as it continues efforts to strengthen nationwide fuel supply.
