Veteran Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has made an emotional appeal for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time. In a tearful video shared online, the actress said she urgently needs support to continue her treatment, explaining that the disease has returned despite undergoing extensive medical care in the past.
Anijekwu disclosed that she previously underwent six rounds of chemotherapy, with each session reportedly costing over ₦5 million, and that doctors have now recommended an additional 14 chemotherapy sessions. She said the cost of the treatment is beyond what she and her family can afford, prompting her to seek help from Nigerians, colleagues and well-wishers.
Her appeal has sparked an outpouring of sympathy across social media, with fans and members of the entertainment industry calling for support to help fund her treatment. The actress expressed hope that with timely assistance, she will be able to continue fighting the disease and recover.
