A video of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the man at the centre of the alleged ₦1.3 billion Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal, has resurfaced online, drawing renewed attention to the controversy surrounding the purported government agency. The footage, recorded during a press conference in late June, shows Adeyemi defending the legitimacy of the PFIPC while openly challenging allegations made against him and questioning the position of Femi Gbajabiamila, the President’s Chief of Staff.

In the video, Adeyemi questioned how an agency the Presidency describes as non-existent could allegedly appear in official budget documents, maintain accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and exchange correspondence with government institutions. He also repeated his claim that Gbajabiamila demanded a share of the agency’s proposed take-off funds—an allegation the Presidency has consistently denied.

The resurfaced clip comes amid ongoing investigations into the PFIPC saga, which has sparked debate over how the alleged agency reportedly interacted with several government offices before being declared fictitious. The Presidency maintains that Adeyemi fraudulently operated under the guise of a government agency with the assistance of internal collaborators, while security agencies continue investigating the matter and any officials who may have facilitated the alleged scheme.
