Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has urged young Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the Federal Government’s youth-focused reforms and empowerment initiatives are creating new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and long-term economic growth. He made the appeal while inaugurating the Kogi Youth Mining and Jewellery Craftsmanship Empowerment Programme in Abuja, describing the initiative as part of efforts to equip youths with practical skills and unlock the economic potential of Kogi State’s vast solid mineral resources.
According to Ododo, the programme is designed to train young people in the mining and jewellery value chain, enabling them to compete globally while creating sustainable sources of income. He said President Tinubu’s policies have demonstrated a commitment to youth development through targeted interventions aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting wealth creation. The governor encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity by embracing hard work, discipline and innovation.
Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in skills acquisition and enterprise development, stressing that empowering young people remains central to Kogi State’s development agenda. He expressed confidence that the initiative would not only improve livelihoods but also strengthen the state’s mining sector by producing a new generation of skilled professionals capable of adding value to Nigeria’s solid minerals industry.
