The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has donated ₦25 million to traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at Bode Market in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area. During a sympathy visit to the market, Alli expressed condolences to the victims, acknowledging the devastating losses suffered by many traders whose shops and goods were destroyed in the inferno.
Alli, who was received by the market’s Babaloja, Salau Oloya, and Iyaloja, Sikira Alaja, said the donation was aimed at helping victims begin the process of rebuilding their businesses. He assured the traders that the APC would continue to identify with the people during difficult times and pledged ongoing support for initiatives that improve the welfare of residents across the state.
The traders expressed appreciation for the financial support, describing it as a timely intervention that would provide relief to those worst affected by the disaster. The fire, which destroyed goods worth millions of naira, has prompted calls for improved fire prevention measures and stronger emergency response systems in major markets across Oyo State.
