The Gombe State Police Command has rescued an eight-year-old boy who was abducted in Akko Local Government Area and arrested four suspects allegedly involved in the crime. According to the police, the child was rescued unharmed following a coordinated operation by security personnel after a report of the abduction was received on June 28, 2026.

Police authorities said the successful operation was made possible through intelligence gathering and swift action by operatives, leading to the arrest of the suspects and the safe recovery of the victim. The child has since been reunited with his family, while the suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping and whether other individuals were involved.

The Commissioner of Police reassured residents of the command’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities. The police also emphasized that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, reaffirming their resolve to ensure justice is served.
