The Chairman of [PUNCH Nigeria Limited](https://punchng.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), Angela Emuwa, and the Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Mojisola Adeyeye, were among distinguished women honoured at the third edition of the Extraordinary Women Advancing Healthcare (EWAH) Africa Awards held in Lagos. The awards recognize women making significant contributions to healthcare development, innovation, and public health across Africa.
Angela Emuwa received recognition for her contributions to healthcare advocacy and the role of PUNCH’s journalism in promoting public health awareness, maternal and child health, immunisation, nutrition, health insurance coverage, and healthcare financing. Speaking after receiving the award, she described it as a testament to the media organization’s commitment to advancing healthcare through impactful reporting.
Other prominent recipients included Mojisola Adeyeye, President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria Njide Ndili, Nigeria Health Watch Managing Director Viviane Ihekweazu, Advantage Health Africa CEO Abimbola Adebakin, ACT Foundation CEO Osayi Alile, and former Kaduna State Commissioner for Health Amina Mohammed-Baloni. The organisers said the awards aim to celebrate women driving positive change in healthcare while encouraging greater gender representation in leadership roles across the sector.
