The Oyo State Police Command has rescued two abducted minors and arrested members of an interstate kidnapping syndicate during a coordinated security operation. The victims, identified as brothers Hadu Abubakar (15) and Sadari Abubakar (14), were abducted from Akinsapon Village near Ayétòró-Ìlè, prompting an immediate response from security agencies.

According to the police, intelligence-led investigations and a joint security operation led to the safe rescue of the children and the arrest of four suspects linked to the kidnapping. The suspects were identified as Abubakar Abubakar, Usman Mohammed, Sanda Legi, and Dore Hado. During the operation, security personnel recovered weapons, including cutlasses, as well as other items believed to have been used in carrying out the crime.

Police authorities said preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are part of a wider criminal network operating across state boundaries. The Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to the State Anti-Kidnapping Squad for a comprehensive investigation aimed at identifying and arresting other members of the syndicate. Two of the suspects reportedly sustained injuries during the operation and are receiving treatment under security watch, while the others remain in custody.

The command described the rescue as another success for its intelligence-driven policing strategy and reiterated its commitment to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes across Oyo State. Residents were urged to continue providing credible information to security agencies, as investigations continue into the activities of the interstate gang and possible links to other kidnapping incidents in the region.
