The Katsina State Police Command has arrested seven suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate accused of attacking a residence in Katsina metropolis and stealing motorcycles, mobile phones, and other valuables. The arrests followed an intelligence-led investigation into a robbery incident that occurred on June 19, 2026, in the Unwala Quarters area of the state capital.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, the victim reported that armed men wielding cutlasses and clubs broke into his family house at about 2 a.m. and carted away two motorcycles, seven mobile phones, and two power banks. Following the report, police operatives launched an investigation that led to the arrest of seven suspects identified as Sulaiman Sabo (alias Labule), Muhammad Aminu, Muhammad Yahaya, Muhammad Daddy, Aliyu Kabir, Musa Kabir, and Ahmad Usman.
The police said the suspects confessed to their involvement during interrogation. Investigators also uncovered the identities of four additional accomplices allegedly involved in disposing of the stolen property. The fleeing suspects were identified as Dahiru Nuhu Tsoho, Ibrahim (alias Iro), Shafi’u Lawal, and Aminu C., all of whom are currently being sought by law enforcement authorities.
The command stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover outstanding stolen items. Police authorities reiterated their commitment to combating violent crime through intelligence-driven operations and encouraged residents to continue providing useful information that could assist security agencies in maintaining public safety across the state.
