\n\nPresident Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace tax compliance as a civic responsibility, stressing that increased revenue generation remains essential to delivering more infrastructure projects and improving public services across the country.
The President appealed the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16–Ring Road III Interchange linking the Jahi and Gwarimpa districts in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu said his administration is committed to building a stronger economy through strategic investments in roads, transportation, healthcare, education, and other critical sectors.
According to him, infrastructure development is one of the pillars of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that sustainable progress cannot be achieved without adequate funding. He explained that taxes remain one of the government’s most reliable sources of revenue for financing development projects that directly benefit citizens.
The President assured Nigerians that despite the country’s economic challenges, his administration remains focused on implementing reforms designed to restore growth, create jobs, and improve living standards. He maintained that Nigeria possesses the resources and potential needed to overcome its present difficulties, urging citizens to remain hopeful and support government policies.
Tinubu further stated that every completed road, bridge, school, hospital, and public facility reflects the importance of collective contributions through taxation. He encouraged individuals and businesses to fulfill their tax obligations, emphasizing that improved compliance would enable government at all levels to deliver more visible dividends of democracy.
The newly commissioned interchange is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity between major districts within Abuja, and enhance economic activities in surrounding communities. Government officials described the project as another milestone in the ongoing effort to modernize transportation infrastructure across the Federal Capital Territory.
The administration reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public funds, assuring Nigerians that tax revenues would continue to be directed toward projects that improve the quality of life for citizens nationwide.
