The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, days after the shocking double murder sparked outrage across the state. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the deaths of the former broadcaster and her guard, who were found murdered at Oyesiku’s residence in the Agodo community along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.

According to police investigations, the victims were attacked by assailants who reportedly gained access to the property before killing both occupants and fleeing with valuables, including Oyesiku’s vehicle. Following intensive intelligence gathering and forensic investigations, detectives tracked down and arrested three suspects believed to be linked to the crime. Police authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests as efforts continue to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to the murder.

The killings had generated widespread concern among residents, media professionals, and civil society groups, prompting calls for swift justice. Friends and associates of the late broadcaster recently appealed to the Ogun State Government and security agencies to ensure that those responsible were brought to book, describing her death as a cruel and senseless tragedy. The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, had earlier visited the crime scene and ordered a comprehensive investigation while assuring the public that the command would leave no stone unturned in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The arrests are expected to provide investigators with critical information about the motive behind the attack and the sequence of events that led to the deaths of the two victims. Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice for the deceased and maintaining public safety across Ogun State. Authorities also urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with credible information that could assist ongoing investigations and help prevent similar crimes in the future.
