\n\nThe Kano State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of 13-year-old Maimuna Salisu, a boarding student of St. Louis Secondary School, Kano, following allegations of foul play by her family. While school authorities reportedly attributed her death to an asthma attack, the family claims she was subjected to corporal punishment by senior students, which may have worsened her medical condition. In response, the police have established a Special Investigation Panel led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, CID, with officials from the Kano State Ministry of Justice providing oversight. Several teachers and senior students are currently being questioned as authorities pledge a transparent and impartial investigation.
