
\n\nThree security operatives were killed after suspected gunmen attacked the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos in Plateau State.
The attackers reportedly stormed the institute late at night and opened fire, leading to a fierce gun battle with security personnel stationed at the facility. Two soldiers and a police officer attached to the institute’s security team lost their lives during the exchange.
Security forces successfully repelled the attack, preventing the gunmen from gaining access to the country’s foremost policy institution.
The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. NIPSS management urged the public to rely on official updates, stating that details circulating on social media remain unverified.
Authorities have assured the public that security around the institute remains a priority as investigations continue.
