\n\nThe African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected a Federal High Court ruling directing INEC to deregister the party and four others, describing the judgment as unconstitutional and a threat to Nigeria’s democracy.
The court ruled that the affected parties failed to meet electoral performance requirements under the Constitution and Electoral Act. However, the ADC insists it remains fully compliant and claims INEC had previously defended its legal status before the court.
The party also questioned the court process, alleging that the ruling was delivered despite an Appeal Court order staying proceedings on the matter.
ADC further accused the ruling party of attempting to weaken the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections and vowed to challenge the judgment through all available legal channels.
“We will be on the ballot in 2027,” the party declared, while urging its supporters to remain peaceful and committed to the democratic process.
