President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every part of the Federal Capital Territory benefits from ongoing development projects, declaring that the government will not rest until residents in all communities enjoy the dividends of democracy. The President made the pledge during activities marking Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebrations, highlighting the importance of inclusive development and improved living standards for citizens across the FCT.
According to Tinubu, the Federal Government remains focused on expanding infrastructure, improving public services, and accelerating development in both urban and rural communities within the capital territory. He stressed that governance must be felt by ordinary citizens through better roads, healthcare facilities, schools, transportation networks, and other essential services. The President noted that democracy should translate into tangible improvements in the lives of the people rather than existing only as a political system.
Tinubu also commended the efforts of the Federal Capital Territory Administration under the leadership of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, citing ongoing infrastructure projects across Abuja and surrounding satellite towns. Recent road constructions, urban renewal programmes, and public facility upgrades have been presented by the administration as evidence of efforts to spread development beyond the city centre and into underserved communities.
The President assured residents that additional projects would be unveiled in the coming months as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that no district, community, or settlement within the FCT would be neglected. He urged citizens to continue supporting government initiatives while maintaining faith in democratic institutions, stating that sustainable development remains central to his administration’s vision for Nigeria’s capital and the country as a whole.
