The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned its decision on the bail application filed by popular relationship therapist and social media personality Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, who is facing trial over an alleged ₦36 million fraud. Justice Yellim Bogoro fixed June 13, 2026, to deliver the ruling after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence during proceedings on Monday.
Blessing CEO was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on a six-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretences, cyberbullying, and the alleged unlawful conversion of funds. According to the EFCC, the defendant fraudulently obtained ₦36 million from one Onyinyechi Nwosu under the pretext of helping her secure a luxury property investment in Lagos. The anti-graft agency further alleged that the social media influencer knowingly misrepresented facts and failed to refund the money after the transaction allegedly collapsed. Blessing CEO has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
During the hearing, defence counsel argued that the defendant had cooperated fully with investigators and should be granted bail on liberal terms, insisting that she posed no flight risk and would always make herself available for trial. However, counsel for the EFCC opposed the application, contending that the charges were serious and that releasing the defendant could interfere with ongoing investigations and the prosecution of the case. After listening to both sides, Justice Bogoro announced that the court would reserve its ruling and adjourned proceedings until the scheduled date.
The case has continued to attract widespread public attention due to Blessing CEO’s large online following and frequent media appearances. Over the years, the influencer has built a reputation for offering relationship advice and commentary on celebrity issues, making the allegations against her one of the most closely watched legal matters involving a Nigerian social media personality. Legal analysts say the court’s upcoming decision on bail could shape the pace of the trial, while the substantive hearing is expected to continue in the coming weeks as prosecutors present evidence and witnesses in support of the charges.
