President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance, unity, and compassion as Muslims across the country celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival. In his Sallah message released on Wednesday, the President called on citizens to reflect on the deeper lessons of sacrifice, obedience, and selflessness associated with the Islamic celebration while praying for peace and national progress. 
Tinubu stated that Eid-el-Kabir serves as a reminder of the virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, particularly faith, patience, and willingness to sacrifice for a greater purpose. He stressed that Nigerians must reject hatred, discrimination, and division regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation. According to the President, national unity and mutual understanding remain essential for Nigeria’s development, especially as the country gradually enters another politically sensitive period ahead of the 2027 general elections. 
The President also acknowledged the economic and security challenges currently facing the country but assured citizens that ongoing reforms by his administration would eventually produce long-term stability and growth. Tinubu noted that while insecurity remains a concern in some communities, the government would continue investing heavily in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic reforms aimed at improving living conditions nationwide. He further appealed to Nigerians to support one another during the festive season, especially the poor and vulnerable. 
The Eid-el-Kabir celebration has triggered similar messages from several political leaders and religious figures across the country. Vice President Kashim Shettima called for maturity and peaceful political engagement ahead of the next election cycle, while First Lady Oluremi Tinubu urged Nigerians to support less privileged citizens and strengthen peaceful coexistence. Across multiple states, governors and traditional rulers also encouraged Muslims to use the period to pray for peace, stability, and economic recovery as millions of Nigerians mark one of Islam’s most important religious festivals.
